"For where two or three gather in my name,
am I with them." - Jesus (Matthew 18:20) Worship at MLLC is a special time to come together as a congregation to celebrate our Lord and share our faith. Communal gathering is our witness to the body of Christ, as it is alive and well in our community and the world. We rejoice together, mourn together, celebrate together, and grow in faith together. Worship at MLLC is unique as it is theologically Lutheran yet liturgically contemporary (for Lutherans, at least!). Each worship service includes singing with our band M3, communal and private prayer, reading of scriptures, a sermon and reflection, and Holy Communion - all believers are welcome at God's table! Wherever you are in your life's journey, you are welcome here. MLLC provides an intimate familial setting that is supportive and transparent. Each worship service is carefully crafted to speak to modern issues through a theological lens, yet there is always plenty of laughter and light-heartedness to make anyone feel welcome! We provide nursery care for children under the age of 6 during Sunday morning worship. Join us on Sundays at 8:45am or 10am - plus on Facebook & Youtube! |
More about our worship for first-time guests:
We welcome you to worship with us! Our voices joining as one to worship our creator is a pleasing sound to God’s ear. If this is your first time with us, please sign the guest book in the narthex (on the podium near the entrance doors). There are several features about our worship that we would like to highlight for you:
Prayer is a central part of worship and our spiritual life. We pray for our needs, friends, family, and anyone that is sick. We let the community know about any prayer requests after the announcements, and these prayer requests are lifted up to God during the Prayers of Intercession during the service. If you have a prayer request that is rather private, then we understand that you might not want to announce it to the congregation. We offer prayer with two prayer ministers during communion at the doors of the sanctuary. Please feel free to write down any public or private prayer requests on the backside of the attendance cards and drop them in the basket during the passing of the peace or at communion.
Communion is a sacrament of grace that we joyfully receive every week. We invite you to receive communion with us, even if you are not a member of this church or a Lutheran church. We practice “open communion,” which means that we welcome all Christians to God’s table. We welcome children just as Jesus welcomed the children. The children that have not had First Communion yet will receive a grape with a blessing from the pastor.
Worship with voices raised to God is our desire. To help us with this, we use a screen for the liturgy, hymns, and sermon. The bold font on the screen is for all of us to say together. There are hymnals in the pews for those that want to see the music notes or to use the hymnal during the worship; we provide page numbers in the order of worship in each week's bulletin.
